Zainakote entrepreneurs hail Rangarajan report

Srinagar, Mar 6: The Industries Association Zainakote, has welcomed the report of Dr Rangarajan Committee which was submitted to chief minister Omar Abdullah on Friday.
In a statement here today the association said the report has was timely and government should “without wasting any time implement this report.”
President of the Association, Shahjahan, said the industrial units in Kashmir in general and in the IE Zainakote face deficiency of skilled people.
“We in this estate have different industries, viz. Pharmaceutical, Wood Joinery, Steel Furniture, General Fabrication, Food Processing, Cotton and Textile, etc. Almost every industry here has a dearth of technical expertise and is dependent on labour from outside.”
Shahjahan said the estate has land earmarked for establishment of a Display Centre for Industry. He said he would appreciate if on the same land a multi complex is built to host the technical institute proposed by the Job Panel.
