Corruption menace
A recent editorial titled "Beyond Politics" (GK Feb 24) has correctly put lot of emphasis on plundering of our forests by unscrupulous and corrupt people at the helm. This practice has been going on ever since GoI instilled political corruption in Kashmir some sixty years ago. The cancer of corruption is not confined to only forests but it has crept into to the entire society. Our situation is like an ostrich that hides his face in sand thinking nobody is watching him. Unless all of us as a society become conscious; stop stealing street lights, manipulating diagnostic machinery in hospitals in consideration of commissions, encroaching illegally on public property, there is no remedy for menace of corruption.
