PaK Govt warned against influencing polls

Muzaffarabad, Mar 8: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz on Tuesday asked the central government to “rein in” the federal ministers who it alleged were bent upon vitiating the peaceful atmosphere of Pakistan administered Kashmir with their uncalled for meddling in the sensitive region.
 “The unrelenting meddling by some federal ministers in Azad Kashmir (PaK) and use of their resources to woo the voters here is a big hurdle in the conduct of forthcoming general election in a free, fair and transparent manner,” said Shah Ghulam Qadir, secretary PML-N organizing committee for PaK at a press conference here.
 He alleged that the central government had sanctioned Rs 5 million each initially for 16 constituencies of the Legislative Assembly, to be spent at the discretion of the PP-PaK lawmakers or leaders.
 “It’s not interference by the Pakistan Peoples Party but by the central government because the funds will be provided from the taxpayers’ money,” said Qadir, also a former Speaker.
