Dhoobi Mohalla seeks improvement in civic amenities
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, Apr 30: The Welfare Committee Dhobhi Mohalla, Batamaloo President Abdul Kabir Bhat aka Kabali has appealed the government to improve the civic amenities in the area.
Kabuli flanked by other residents said the demand of road widening towards Tengpora bypass had been pending for years.
“Neither the road is being widened nor the dilapidated houses are being allowed to be repaired, which is making the people live life of uncertainty,” Kabuli said.
He said even though a new water supply line was laid in the area, it damaged the macadamized roads. “Thereafter no repairs were ever done,” he said.
Kabali said the congested Mohalla looks to be “typically ignored.”
Citing example he said, some years back the government laid foundation stone of a much awaited Community Hall.
“But the development remained restricted to foundation stone alone,” he ridiculed.
The welfare committee has appealed the Chief Minister Omer Abdulah and the local MLA, Irfan Shah to look into the matter.
