Woman ‘murdered’ in Bandipora

Bandipora, May 9: A 37-year-old woman was allegedly found murdered in her house at Dhobi Mohalla Kaloosa here on Sunday night. According to police, the deceased has been identified as Jana Begum wife of Bashir Ahmed Dhobi. “Jana was found dead by an elder woman who entered her home at 12 AM,” police said adding the woman later alerted the neighbours who in turn called police. “It appears that the assailants were known to victim as there was no sign of resistance at the crime spot,” a police official said, adding there were complaints of “domestic violence” in the family. “As of now, nothing can be said for sure. But we will solve the case soon,” SHO Bandipora Nissar Ahmed said, adding a case had been registered under section 174 CRPC.
