Not true
This refers to the article “The myth of Saudi women” by Nayeema Mahjoor. I couldn’t understand what the author wanted to convey by saying “I wish the Saudi lifestyle and business were broadcast live throughout the world so that the true picture of Arab society is shown to those who have confined their views of Islam to the burqa, beard or sword only.” Presently there is not a single society in the world that has courage to present the true face of Islam. So to broadcast live the lifestyle of the modern Arab women can’t serve the purpose. Yes it can merely show the tradition of Arab society. It is true that restriction of diverse messages of Islam on the burqa, beard or the sword speaks of a myopic vision, but to underrate these doesn’t confirm any broad vision. Let me question the author about the Muslim women in France. Despite all odds posed on them by the French government, many women still dare to wear it. What is it that has made their will strong? Of course it is their faith alone. Apart from piety there is no other yardstick that measures the superiority of an individual in the eyes of Islam.
