Omar disappoints Drass, Kargil residents

GHULAM NABI ZEYA

Drass, May 11: Residents of Drass and Kargil on Wednesday said that they were disappointed as Chief Minister Omar Abdullah did not pay a visit to these twin towns on Srinagar-Leh highway.
“We were happy when we came to know that Chief Minister is visiting Gumri. We were expecting that he will visit Drass and Kargil to assess the situation and interact with us,” locals told Greater Kashmir.
“We were eagerly waiting for him to arrive. However, he directly went to Leh from Gumri and ignored us,” they said.  “Last year Omar visited Leh on nine occasions but he visited Kargil only once.”
