3 bakers fined for selling underweight Tchut
Srinagar, May 14: A team of the Legal Metrology officials under the supervision of Deputy Controller, Enforcement on Saturday fined three bakers during raids at their shops for allegedly selling underweight local bread.
An official handout said: “Prompted by public complaints that bakers are keeping short-weight of breads including local Tchut, Tchuchwaroo and Lawassa etc, the raids were conducted”.
The authorities have “requested the consumers to keep a check on the bread weight.”
“In case of any complaint, the consumers can visit the office of Inspector Legal Metrology or ring on the phone number 2430589.”
