Keep City polythene, dog free: students speak at Dal rally

Srinagar, May 14: During a save environment rally on the Dal lake banks Saturday, students urged the authorities to “keep Srinagar polythene and dog free.”
The rally was held by Abuseena Educational Institute wherein the students marched around the lake and raised slogans for protection of the Dal Lake greenery of Zabarwan hills and its adjoining areas.
The rally concluded at Foreshore Park where various dignitaries, writers and novelists addressed them and also “supported the true pro-environment approach of the students”.
The Chairman of the Abuseena Educational Institute welcomed the dignitaries belonging to Department of Information, Department of Sports and other agencies.
They students said the youth would appreciate the role of concerned executive agencies for “keeping Srinagar polythene and dog free.”
The students who were mostly from Shahr-e-Khaas expressed their concern for protection of heritage sites in the City so that their bright historical background becomes “symbol of glory”.
