‘TVS King’ rolled out in Valley
Company announces ‘welfare schemes’ for operators

Srinagar, May 15: TVS Motor Company Limited, one of India’s largest 2-wheeler manufacturers that recently entered into the 3-wheeler business, rolled out its new passenger auto rickshaw ‘TVS King’ here today.
Minister for Transport Qamar Ali Akhoon flagged off the auto rickshaw which has been termed by the company as ‘King of Autos’ for its “noiselessness and comfortable design.”
On the occasion the company announced several welfare schemes and programs for the auto operators and their families. The company offered a one year free accident and health care insurance policy on the product.
“The company would tie up with reputed insurance companies for benefit of the drivers,” said Assistant General Manager, TVS, R C. Dubey.
“The policy will cover the owner and his family against medical care up to Rs 30,000 per annum, and a personal accident policy for Rs 1 lakh,” he added.
“Besides, one scholarship would be given to child of TVS King Owner/Driver, who will secure the highest marks in class 10th and 12th exam in each state of its operation,” he said.
The company shall also hold a training program to give tips to the operators about safety, preventive maintenance, passenger courtesy, etc.”
Akhoon said: “We are very keen to set up the full-fledged traffic signal system for the smooth traffic flow”, he said. He appreciated TVS Company and its authorized dealer Kashmir Motors for their efforts.
On a occasion a company representative explained the special features of ‘TVS King’.
He said: “The India’s first 200 cc TVS King can run on petrol, LPG and CNG in both two and four stroke versions.”
The “Electric start” Auto-rickshaw is loaded with superior features like modern low friction 7-port engine with the peak torque at lower.
“It’s a futuristic product with a good combination of power, style, comfort and mileage and is designed for modern cities,” said Dubey.
“Auto rickshaw has been an alternative arrangement for public so we wanted to modify its design.”
The vehicle comes with an attractive interior that add to the styling of the vehicle include a car-like dash board with fuel level indicators and mobile phone charging socket, dual tone high quality seats and an integrated bumper.
The Kashmir Motors, which has been associated with the commercial vehicle trade for more than 20 years, is the authorized dealers of TVS in Kashmir.
“TVS and Kashmir Motors would leverage its existing extensive distribution and service network in and around the Valley,” said Aijaz Ahmad, Managing Director Kashmir Motors.
