Srinagar, May 15: The Minister for Irrigation and Flood Control Taj Mohi-ud-Din on Sunday said the Government took a bold decision of transferring power to people by conducting Panchayat elections.
 During a visit to Uri, Taj congratulated the newly elected Panches and Sarpanches and urged them to work above party and ideological lines for the welfare of common masses.
 “You have to act as bridge between Government and people in these far flung areas and serve them with utmost humility so that the most deprived sections of society also get involved in the process of development,” Taj said.
