GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, May 16: Governor N N Vohra has said that Buyer-Seller Meets provide an excellent opportunity for buyers and sellers from various parts of the country and abroad to evolve mutually beneficial understandings and forge long term trade and business relations.
The governor was interacting with the participants of the 3-day International Buyer-Seller Meet “Kashmir Expo-2011” here last evening.
The Meet has been organized by the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Bank and sponsored by the Union Ministry of Commerce, from May 14 to May 17.
The governor while talking with the participants in the Meet said: “You have met our people in Kashmir and seen our various products. I am certain that you will come again and again and establish sustained business relations with our producers in the coming times,” he told the buyers.
He hoped that the Buyer-Seller Meet would not only promote on spot sale of world famous handicraft items and other products of the State but evolve futuristic trade and business relations, an official statement said.
Earlier, the President, Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Nazir A Dar said that handicrafts, tourism and horticulture are the mainstay of the State’s economy and promotion of these sectors will largely contribute towards the objective of securing prosperity of the artisans, craftsmen, those associated with the travel trade and above all the common people.
