Dy CM for coordinated efforts
Jammu May 16: In order to review preparedness of various departments for the summer as well as upcoming Amarnath Yatra, Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand today chaired a high level provincial meeting of all the major departments.
The marathon meeting was called by the Dy CM on the maiden day of the summer secretariat, here today.
On the occasion, Tara said in order to address the problems being faced by the people of the province, the Government has established summer secretariat. He said every week a Minister would be available to listen to the grievances of the public, thus bringing Government more closer to people.
Describing the ensuing summer as peak season, Tara said in the season the demand for water, power, ration and other services is at peak and the departments need to be geared up so as to come up to the expectations of the general public.
In wake of upcoming Amarnath Yatra, he directed the Divisional Commissioner to make committees headed by the respective Deputy Commissioners, to ensure smooth conduct of Yatra right from Kathua to Banihal.
While directing the officers to be available at their respective headquarters, he said stern action would be taken against those found guilty of dereliction of duties.
He enjoined upon PHE, PDD, PWD and other line departments to work in close coordination and make sure that people do not suffer due to inter-departmental delays.
