Army committed to transparent dealings:Lt Gen Hasnain
Srinagar, May 17: Army on Tuesday said that it was committed to “truthful and transparent” dealings in Jammu and Kashmir.
“Human rights’ is the heart of our hearts theme and Army is committed to truthful and transparent dealings,” General Officer Commanding of the Srinagar-based Chinar Corps Lt General Syed Atta Hasnain said in his closing remarks at a 2-day seminar on human rights here.
The seminar conducted by the Army at BB Cantt, concluded with last day’s deliberation focused on ‘Challenges and Dilemma faced by the Security Forces’, a spokesman of the defence ministry said in a statement.
Meanwhile, Lieutenant General KT Parnaik, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) concluded his 4-day visit to the Kashmir Valley. During his visit, the Army Commander attended the Unified Headquarter Meeting chaired by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. Besides, Lt Gen Parnaik attended army Mela, visited forward post along the Line of Control where he interacted with soldiers. The Army commander also delivered the key note address at the human rights seminar yesterday.
