"A high power delegation of heads of various like-minded trade unions will visit New Delhi on June 27 to urge the Prime Minister and other central leaders for providing a special package of Rs 5,000 crore to J&K towards payment of 6th Pay Commission arrears and allied benefits to the employees and pensioners in one go," National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) President Subash Shastri said today.
While addressing workers rally here today, Shastri said delegation would meet the Prime Minister, Union Finance Minister, Deputy Chairman of Planning Commission and submit memorandums to them pleading for sanctioning a special package for meeting the demands of state employees and pensioners.
He said the trade union leaders would also call on the Union Home Minister and request him for declaring Jammu and Srinagar as B-I cities.
Referring to the need for formulating a National Pay Policy, he said that any pay commission set up by the Government of India should cover both central and the state government employees so that its recommendation are implemented simultaneously throughout the country to avoid any agitation in any state.
