‘Will ensure peaceful summer’
KHALID GUL
Islamabad (Anantnag), May 18: The General Officer Commanding (GOC) of Army’s Victor Force, Major General Gurdeep Singh, Tuesday said the Army was committed to ensure peaceful summer this year.
“The Army has always been for peace and will utilize all its efforts to maintain law and order in the state and ensure that this summer passes off peacefully,” the GOC told reporters at the sidelines of a final match of Anantnag Premium League (APL) T-20 cricket tournament organized by Sector 1- RR. He said the sports events organized by the Army were aimed at nurturing the young talent and to inculcate the self discipline in them so that they don’t fall prey to the anti-social elements. “The promotion of sports culture in the state can prove to be useful in finding solution to many issues,” Singh said.
