Jammu, May 18: Minister of state for Cooperatives, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma today called for early completion of two 100 MT fertilizer godowns under centrally sponsored Rashtriya Krishi Vikash Yojana Scheme.
The minister while reviewing the working of the Cooperative Department at a meeting asked Registrar Cooperative Societies to ensure early completion of two fertilizer godowns coming up one each at Sopore and Assar in Doda.
The meeting was informed that the department also proposes to construct four such Godowns at Wahipora Tangmarg, Sunderbani, Billawar and Arnas in Baramulla, Rajouri, Kathua and Reasi districts respectively to create a buffer stock of fertilizers for easy availability of the same to the farmers.
Dr. Manohar Lal also reviewed the progress of construction work of office complex of Registrar Cooperative Societies which is coming up at Bemina Srinagar at an estimated cost of Rs.169.49 lakh. It was informed that the remaining work related to finishing touch is underway.
Dr. Sharma accompanied by Commissioner/Secretary Cooperatives and Managing Director, J&K State Cooperative Bank, also inspected the construction work of corporate office building of J&K State Cooperative Bank at Raj Bagh, Srinagar.
This corporate office building would have state of art infrastructure with core banking and other modern facilities. The training centre would also be established immediately to upgrade the skill of the in-house employees of the bank. He instructed to the engineers of the executing agency to complete the work of the building in all respects by 30th May 2011.
