3 die, 28 hurt in mishaps

Srinagar, May 18: Three persons including a woman were killed and 28 others injured in separate road accidents in Valley.
Two persons were killed and 17 others wounded when a vehicle (JK04B-2635) they were travelling in met with an accident at Baba Reshi Tangmarg in Baramulla district. According to reports, the mishap occurred when the vehicle drive failed to negotiate a sharp curve. The deceased have been identified as Manzoor Ahmad son of Abdul Jabbar of Wahigundu and Hafizullah Bhat son of Ghulam Rasool Bhat of Guran Budgam.
Meanwhile, a woman was killed and 11 others wounded when a mini bus (JK05A-9494), they were traveling in met with an accident near Gurdal Malangam Bandipora on Wednesday.
 According to police, the deceased has been identified as Asha Begum of Najar Mohalla Malangam. The vehicle was on way from Malangam to Bandipora when the incident happened, police said.
 Meanwhile, a car (JK01D-7713) hit and injured a pedestrian on M A Road, police said.

YOUTH DROWNS IN BONYAR
 Two youth Akash Ahmad Sheikh son of Ghulam Muhammad Sheikh of Grid Nawa Nowshara Boniyar and Nissar Ahmad Mir son of Bashir Ahmad of Azadpora Thatmulla Boniyar drowned in lower Jhelum Hydro Project Canal at Boniyar.
 According to police, the local rescued Akash Ahmad Sheikh while as Nissar Ahmad Mir drowned in the canal. The search for missing is going on, it said.


3 STRUCTURES DAMAGED
 Fire broke out in the house of Nazir Ahmad Mir son of Reshi Mir of Qamer Shahabad Dooru, Islamabad (Anantnag) damaging the structure.
 Cowshed of Ali Muhammad Dar son of Rajab Dar of Qaimoh, Kulgam was also damaged in a blaze. Fire broke out in the dry straw belonging to Muhammad Yousuf Allay son of Muhammad Abdullah of Khandi Phari which engulfed the dry straw of Bashir Ahmad Allay son of Abdul Gani and Ghulam Nabi son of Ghulam Ahmad Allay of Khandi Phari Kulgam burning the straw completely. Fire broke out in the cowshed of Ghulam Nabi Mir, Ghulam Mir and Abdul Majid Mir sons of Ghulam Muhammad Mir and Abdul Rashid Wani son-in-law of Raja Begum of Katren Mir Bazar Kulgam gutting it completely.
 Fire also broke out in the forests of Guzriyal Trehgam, Kupwara. Fire tenders, forest officials are on job to extinguish the blaze, police said.
