Malik pays tributes to Molvi Farooq, Gani Lone
Srinagar, May 19: Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front chairman, Muhammad Yaseen Malik on Thursday said no power in the world could defeat the Kashmiris’ ongoing freedom movement as, according to him, it is adorned with the supreme sacrifices of great men.
“Shaheed-e-Millat Moulana Muhammad Farooq and Shaheed-e-Hurriyat Khwaja Abdul Gani Lone belong to this tribe of great souls,” said Malik, while paying rich tributes to the duo on their martyrdom anniversary being observed on May 21.
Remembering Mirwaiz Moulana Muhammad Farooq, Malik described him a great scholar, orator par excellence and a farsighted political leader who kept alive the Kashmir issue during the different periods of history and provided an able leadership to the people at every level. “Whether it was Holy Relic Movement or 1988 Revolution, Moulana Farooq remained with the people and achieved martyrdom on May 21, 1990,” he said. Malik described Abdul Gani Lone as a shrewd politician, brave and bold leader and great legal luminary who always worked for the resolution of Kashmir issue.
