Jamia market traders pay tributes to Mirwaiz Molvi Farooq
Srinagar, May 20: Jamia Market Traders Federation paid glowing tributes to Mirwaiz Molvi Muhammad Farooq in connection with his martyrdom anniversary.
In a handout the federation General Secretary Tariq Ahmed Masoodi said the function was presided over by the market president Javed Ahmed Zargar while Valley’s head priest Mirwaiz Dr Umar Farooq was the chief guest.
Besides others, senior members of Kashmir Traders Federation, Employees Federation and Traders Manufacturers Federation also attended the event.
The invitees termed Molvi Farooq as the founder of the Jamia market adding that it was because of him that Nowhatta continues to be the nerve centre of the City.
Traders from Maharaj Gunj market lead by their president Asadullah Mir also attended the event.
Meanwhile, the president of J&K Jamiat e Himayat ul Islam Molvi Khursheed Ahmed Qanungo in a statement said that apart from being a master orator and preacher, the late Mirwaiz was a highly dignified, farsighted and a courageous politician. Qanungo prayed for peace to the departed soul.
