Prof. Punjabi member of WG on higher education
Srinagar, May 22: Kashmir University Vice-Chancellor Prof Riyaz Punjabi has been nominated as a member on the Working Group on higher education, set-up by the Planning Commission at the Government of India under the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development.
The Working Group shall review the present status of higher education in the country with a particular focus on medium and long term development perspectives. It has been given the task to examine critically the issues of access, equity and quality and relevance of the higher education system in the context of globalization and structural changes in the national economy.
The Working Group shall also assess, among other issues, the academic and infrastructure standards of the state universities and colleges with a view to minimizing disparities in quality standards and measures to channelize greater flow of funds to these institutions.
