Srinagar: Health and Family Welfare Employees’ Confederation, at a meeting held here with its president, Khursheed Ahmad Bhat in chair, thanked the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah and Health Minister Sham Lal Sharma for elevating, Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman as Director Health Services Kashmir thereby fulfilling the long pending demand of the doctors and paramedics of the Health department. 

 The meeting discussed general problems of employees of different categories and decided to take up these with the director Health Services Kashmir for their resolution on priority.

 The meeting was among others attended by the Confederation chairman, Ghulam Nabi Prengi, vice-president, Mukhtar Ahmad Bhat, chief organizer M Aslam Shah, district president Srinagar Altaf Ahmad Hando. The participants demanded that the DPC meeting should be held immediately.

 Speaking on the occasion, Khursheed Ahmad Bhat hailed the efforts put in by the director Health Services, Kashmir, Dr Saleem-ul-Rehman to improve the patient care. He assured complete support to him on behalf of the employees of the health department. He hoped that Director would also look into the problems and genuine demands of the employees and solve them on priority. 

 Khursheed, according Confederation statement, said, “It is in the history of health department that after a very long period an experienced doctor and the best administrator, who has served the department for last 20 years, has been promoted as director.”
