'Corpus Fund for senior citizens on anvil'
Srinagar: Social Welfare Minister, Sakina Itoo today said the Government was contemplating to create Corpus Fund aimed at integrated development of senior citizens.
Chairing the meeting of State Level Advisory Council, Sakina said a Committee was being constituted to work out ways, means and other modalities for the Fund.
She said the concept of Corpus Find emerged following increase in elderly population in the State and rise in several societal problems hitherto unknown.
Sakina said the Government would activate Women Advisory Board to catalyze formulation and execution of women specific programmes.
She asked the Director Rehabilitation Council to expedite disposal of files and ensure that pendency was cleared at an earliest.
