Hurriyat (G) decries Geelani’s house arrest
Srinagar, May 25: The Hurriyat (G) has strongly condemned the house arrest of Syed Ali Shah Geelani terming it as Government’s frustration.
The Conglomerate’s spokesman, Ayaz Akbar said the veteran leader was placed under house arrest on Wednesday evening. “A large contingent of police cordoned Geelani Sahib’s Hyderpora residence and informed him that he can’t move out of the house. This is an attempt to thwart Geelani Sahib’s rally at Hazratbal and shows Government frustration,” Akbar said.
