JK Oly Chapter to organise Olympic Run in June
Srinagar, May 27: J&K State Chapter of Olympics is organizing an Olympic Run in Kashmir Valley in June this year.
This was stated by Minister for Youth Services and Sports, R S Chib while addressing a valedictory function of Inter district football tournament here today.
He said similar event would also be organised in Jammu division to explore the hidden talent of the youth, adding that the potential of talented youth would be explored to form a State football team which he hoped would bring laurels to the State.
The weeklong divisional level football tournament Under 19 was organised by Department of Youth Services and Sports in which nine teams of the division participated. The final match was played between Srinagar and Baramula teams in which Srinagar team won the match by 2 goals.
Earlier the Minister was introduced with the players by the Joint Director and Deputy Directors Youth Services and Sports. Later, the Minister distributed trophies, medals and certificates among winner, runner up and participant’s teams and individuals.
Among others, Joint Director, Youth Services and Sports Madan Lal Sharma, Deputy Directors Youth Services and Sports Nilofer Amin and Gulshan Ara, District Sports Officers, besides players and sports lovers were also present on the occasion.
