Pandach residents stage demo against lack of development

Ganderbal, May 27: The residents of Pandach and its adjoining villages today staged a demonstration and blocked Srinagar-Leh highway against the lack of development. 

 Chanting slogans and holding placards and banners, the residents, under the banner of Ellaqai Welfare Forum, were seeking development of their localities.

 “The areas lack basic amenities and despite numerous representations, the Government has failed to do anything substantial,” the protestors said.

 “In revenue records, we are with Ganderbal, but surprisingly our area has been put under Srinagar Municipal Limits,” they said. The additional district commissioner pacified the protestors assuring them that their grievances would be looked into.
