SBI sets new targets for ED Bank

Srinagar, May 28: Setting an ambitious Rs 1000 crore business target for Ellaquai Dehati Bank, the State Bank of India today advised the EDB to achieve cent per cent CBS and increase in profitability in 2011-12.
 Chairing a review meeting with the senior functionaries at the Bank’s Head Office here today, Shri Niranjan Parsha General Manager, SBI Corporate Office Mumbai said the EDB has shown good results during last 4-5 years and its business has almost tripled.
 “However, there is still a long way to go. There are vast opportunities for the development of business for banks in the State.”
 The GM said in cold regions, banks should devise a tailor made product for the people living in rural areas to provide them employment not only during the peak agriculture season, but during lean season as well.
