SBI flags off ATM in Gbl

Ganderbal, May 2: State Bank of India today inaugurated an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) at Ganderbal. It is the Bank’s 49th teller machine in the Valley.
 The facility was flagged off by District Development Commissioner Ganderbal Showkat Ahmad Mir.
 Speaking on the occasion, the DDC highlighted the importance of banking services in the area and said financial institutions play a vital role in the modern times for the socio economic development of the people particularly in the rural areas.
 He urged for providing hassle free loans to the unemployed educated youth under various self-employment schemes in the district adding that this could tackle unemployment problem to a great extent.
 He also appealed to the unemployed youth to come forward in a big way and avail the benefits of as well as centrally sponsored schemes.
 The DDC said that another ATM branch inaugurated in the area would positively provide relief to the people.
 Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal Muhammad Ashraf Shanthoo, Assistant General Manager, Regional Office, SBI A U Tak, Manager SBI Beehama Branch Mudasir Hussain Zaki and other officials were also present on the occasion.
 SBI officials said the machine would help people to transact with the Bank without actually visiting its branch.
