Eve-teasing triggers protest at Kashmir Haat
Srinagar, May 29: Eve-teasing of a girl allegedly by CRPF personnel triggered violent protests at Kashmir Haat this evening, reports said.
A local news agency, Kashmir News Service, said the locals objected to eve-teasing of the girl allegedly by CRPF men deployed there. “The youth started raising slogans and policemen swung into action asking them to disperse. However, they started pelting stones on the cops leading to commotion there. Police later chased away the youth who appeared at the nearby flyover,” the KNS said.
Meanwhile, a police spokesman said that they have taken cognizance of the incident. “Police officers rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control immediately. There is no report of any injury to anybody,” he further said.
