SHOPIAN TRAGEDY ANNIVERSARY
GK NEWS NETWORK
Shopian, May 29: Shakeel Ahmad Ahangar, husband of Neelofar and brother of Asiya, who were allegedly raped and murdered 2-yrs ago in this south Kashmir town, on Sunday appealed Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Iran and Egypt to give him asylum so that he could live a “tension free” life.
“Government agencies have made my life miserable,” Shakeel said in a statement.
He alleged that Chief Minister, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Police knew who the culprits were.
“But no one has the courage to arrest the accused,” he said.
Shakeel expressed dismay over alleged police harassment to his family and protagonists of Shopian case. “My brother was tortured and a youth Tariq Ahmad Ganie was booked under Public Safety Act (PSA) for raising their voice to get the accused arrested,” he said.
“Two reliable witnesses Abdul Rashid Pampori and Ghulam Mohiudin had deposed before two commissions and had revealed what had happened despite that accused are still roaming freely,” he added.
