Petrol pump fined for cheating consumers
Srinagar, May 30: Legal Metrology officials today fined a petrol pump in Pulwama for allegedly cheating its customers. In a surprise raid, the officials found the petrol dispensing unit was allegedly releasing 10 ml less in every litre. The Inspector, Legal Metrology, Pulwama booked the alleged offender and “seized the functions of the pump and a notice was served on the owner of the pump,” an official handout said. Meanwhile, the authorities have urged the common consumers to check the delivery of petrol/diesel at the pumps for themselves by a 5 litre conical measure which remains available on the petrol pump stations in case they doubt delivery of the pump. The consumers can also lodge complaints against petrol pump stations on phone no. 0194-2430589.
