Illegal clinics
These days the government of Jammu and Kashmir busy in closing down illegal clinics and labs in the state. Winding up an illegal medical establishment is not a permanent remedy. Rather those officials who are involved in issuing such licenses/registration should be punished under rules. Sex ratio shows a declining trend in the state which indicates the presence of medical practitioners sans ethical considerations. Female feticide may be going on at a quit high frequency in disguise. The need of the hour is to eradicate this menace that takes our modernised society back to the Stone Age. The medical fraternity working in the field must be again educated regarding the consequences of this social evil . Sale, prescription and consumption of spurious drugs from substandard clinics is another emerging threat our society is facing in which youth, especially the adolescents are the major victims.
