Agri Deptt sells vegetable seedlings for `2 lakh
Srinagar, May 5: Agriculture Department organized sale of Hybrid vegetable seedlings of Tomato, Brinjal, Capsicum, Cucumber, Bottle guard, Knol Khol & local variety of Saag at Kitchen Garden Lalmandi here today, said Director Agriculture Farooq Ahmad Lone.
He said the sale evoked good response from people. “Sale was earlier also organized for hybrid varieties of Cabbage, Cauliflower etc. Revenue of Rs. 2 lakh was realized from the sale of seedlings till date during the current season. “
Department has also organized sale of vegetable seedlings in Anantnag (Islamabad) and Baramulla, and according to the officers of the department the scheme, owing to huge popularity shall be extended to other district head quarters of the valley in future.
