Don’t sell packaged fruit without MRP label, traders told

Jammu, May 5: The departments of Legal Metrology and Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution today directed the dry fruit dealers to display MRP on the packaged dry fruit.
 Earlier, during an inspection of Hari Market here, the officials of the departments found that traders were charging different prices for the same product in the market. The officials also found that the shopkeepers had not displayed the rate lists.
 President, Dry Fruit Association and Vice President of Lower Hari Market Association were directed to take steps within seven days to ensure that all the packaged fruit must bear mandatory declaration of MRP,  PKD,  Net Weight, address of packer along with consumer helpline number for the information of consumers.
