Hashmi takes over Hizb media section

TARIQ NAQASH

Muzaffarabad, May 5: Hizbul Mujahideen has appointed Salim Hashmi as the head of its media section.
In a communiqué, the outfit said, “Hashmi has been appointed as spokesman of Hizb (and in charge of its Media Centre) following annual reorganization for 2011, replacing Ehsan Ilahi who has been relieved of this responsibility to carry out some other obligations.”
The decision was made at a meeting held at the Hizb Media Centre with Hizbul Mujahideen Supreme Commander, Syed Salahuddin in the chair, the communiqué said.
Salahuddin said Ilahi carried out his duties with devotion and presented the message of his organization before the masses in true spirit and perspective.
Salahuddin made it clear that Hizb was engaged in freedom struggle in accordance with the UN charter which would continue until the dawn of freedom in Jammu and Kashmir.
“Ours is a just cause, but in a world influenced by false propaganda we have to convey our viewpoint in the most effective and scientific manner to all those who believe in and stand for peace, justice and freedom of speech and expression as well as the right to self determination of people, regardless of cast, creed, race and religion,” he said.
Salahuddin hoped that the new head of media centre would make the most of his rich experience and contacts to disseminate the message of freedom seeking Kashmiris.
It may be recalled that Hashmi had served as Hizb Media Centre in charge from 2000 to 2006, to the great satisfaction of correspondents.
