Illegal constructions

The condition of Dal Lake is deteriorating with each passing day. Every year ministers and the bureaucrats claim to preserve this famous Lake which is the attraction for tourists from around the globe. But unfortunately constructions in and around the lake continue. Who is allowing dumping of construction material in areas around Dal Lake? All along the road from Hazratbal to Saida Kadal, scores of illegal constructions have come up on two sides of the road? There is nobody looking into this. What are the officials of the Lakes and Waterways Development Authority doing? They are being paid for keeping a watch on illegal constructions but they seem to be facilitating the practice. If the pace of construction continues like this, we are sure to lose this asset once for all. It is time for LAWDA to wake up.
