Mirwaiz’s PA ‘denied’ passport

Srinagar: Syed Rehman, the personal assistant to Hurriyat (M) chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Wednesday alleged that he had been denied passport for past nearly six years by the authorities without assigning any reason. 
 Rehman who is also the Chief Editor of a magazine of Anjuman Nusrat-ul-Islam, said he had applied for a passport on November 14, 2005 under receipt no (A004870) and November 19, 2008 under receipt no (A009009) respectively.   
 “However, I was not issued the passport without assigning any reason. Without passport, I haven’t been able attend various religious conferences and seminars abroad in past many years. I have recently been invited by the Saudia Islamic University Umul Qura in Makkah to participate in connection with religious and education programs. I urge the concerned authorities to look into the matter,” he said.
