Of neglected Bohri Kadal, Naid Kadal and Kawoosa Complex
It is no less than an established fact that the residents, shopkeepers, and other business establishments of Shahr-e-Khaas areas like Bohri Kadal, Naid Kadal, Rajouri Kadal and Zaina Kadal have been feeling neglected. I have some area-wise suggestions that could help restore glory of Shahr-e-Khaas. Having business establishment and public dealings in these areas, I would like to put forth some of the important issues.
First and foremost is that government has constructed beautiful Kawoosa Complex at Bohri Kadal some years back but has miserably failed to inaugurate the same, which could help flourish business there.
The major hitch in this regard are the 8-10 shops presumably belonging to SDA which are proposed to be demolished since long for giving an entrance to this complex.
It’s unfortunate that the concerned authorities have failed to do so.
The young people who own the shops in the complex are left to the mercy of dogs who prowl there.
Secondly the most important in terms of generating local employment and giving a boost to this area in terms of trade is that there is a vacant piece of land behind this Kawoosa complex, which could be utilized as a Sumo stand where from people can travel to other districts. Even some tea stalls can be opened there, which would generate local employment. The hustle and bustle of Sumos would also make the marketplace attractive.
Thirdly there is an urgent need to repair the footpath between Naid Kadal to Bohri Kadal area on the side of Bazaar Masjid where the walkway is badly damaged. People face inconvenience in walking the road. The center divider of the main road is also to be repaired.
Also a small lane of around 26 feet length and 4 feet wide connecting to the main road and Lali Masjid besides Kashmir Sunsilk Industries has to be repaired. It also needs proper streetlighting.
I have many more ideas to share. I
will make them public soon for public good and betterment of our neglected Shahr-e-Khaas.
