Police detain teacher
Pulwama, May 5: Police have detained the teacher of a private school for his alleged negligence which led to the death of a 13-year old student on Wednesday here in south Kashmir. Pertinently, Asif Nabi Dar had consumed acidic water in the school on Tuesday which led to his death in a Srinagar hospital next day. Meanwhile, a team from Directorate of School Education this afternoon conducted a detailed inspection of the private school in the town to ascertain the circumstances which led to the death of the student. The team comprising Joint Director Suraya Akhter, Joint Director Secondary Schooling Shabir Ahmad, Deputy Director planning Muhammad Ashraf and OSD culture Zahoor Ahmad Banday later visited the residence of the student and held deliberations with the bereaved family.
