Army rededicates school to people

Srinagar: The army today rededicated a school, which was under its occupation, back to the local population at Waripura.
 According to defence communiqué, Islamia Public School, was established in year 1989 by a council formed by the locals and was teaching students from class 1st to 8th till 1996.
 “Due to the deterioration in the security situation, the army took over the school in 1995 and established a camp. Of late, with the improvement in the security situation, a decision was taken at Headquarters Counter Insurgency Force (K) to return the school back to the populace,” the communiqué said adding the school was rededicated by the Commander 8 Sector Rashtriya Rifles in front of newly elected representatives of the villages.
