Hold talks with UJC: Er Rashid to GoI

Langate, (Kupwara) May 8: The Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Langate Er Rashid on Sunday urged the Government of India (GoI) to initiate a dialogue with United Jihad Council.
Addressing a rally here in north Kashmir, Rashid said that mainstream and separatist leadership had failed to deliver and need of hour was to start formal parleys with UJC.
“The militant leadership is an important stakeholder to the Kashmir issue,” he said, and added that 72nd amendment to the constitution should be implemented in letter and spirit to empower Panchayats particularly Sarpanchas in the state.
Rashid appealed administration to adopt people friendly policies for good governance or “else they will face the wrath of people,” he added.
