KU Business School launches special lecture series
‘It will dev the overall personality of students’

Srinagar, May 8: In what is aimed to develop the overall personality of its students, the Business School, Kashmir University, has flagged off a Special Lecture Series.
The lecture series that shall continue for the entire year will facilitate interactions between the students of the Business School and people from different fields including government, industry, trade, media, ecology, etc.
On the first lecture of this series, delegates from telecom industry namely Rakesh Shalla, Head Operations, (J&K), Vodafone Essar Spacetel Ltd, Aftab Ahmad, Senior Manager, Zonal Operations and Deepak Khosla Senior Officer, Vodafone Essar Spacetel Limited participated.
Prof Shabir A Bhat, Director, The Business School, during the programme stressed the need to strengthen the linkages between the industry and academic institutions to groom competent, capable and professional managers of tomorrow.
He said interaction with industry people complements the classroom learning, exposes the students to real business scenario and prepares them for future challenges.
Shalla gave an overview of the telecommunication industry and its impact on the economic progress and development of the country.
He discussed at length the opportunities for the budding management professionals in the telecom sector.
The students’ questions were answered by the guest speaker.
Director, The Business School, KU, told Greater Kashmir that this series shall continue for the entire year. “The purpose of these lecturers is to develop the overall personality of our students,” he said.
He said in the upcoming programmes, “we will invite people from different fields. Our students will ask them questions regarding the fields of their work,” he said.
