State level volley ball tourney begins
Udhampur, Nov 11: To pay tributes to the police martyrs and to strengthen police public relations, 2nd Police Martyrs Memorial State Level Volley Ball tournament got underway at Mini stadium here this morning.
The tournament is being organized by the Udhampur–Reasi Range Police under Civic Action Plan.
Deputy Inspector General of Police, Udhampur- Reasi Range, Jagjit Kumar who was the chief guest on the occasion formally declared the tournament open.
Speaking on the occasion, DIG said that holding of this tournament was a step forward to remember the supreme sacrifices of our brave police martyrs and to encourage the sports culture for healthy society. He hoped that tournament would go a long way in attracting the youth towards games and also prove a step forward to strengthen the police- public relation in a big way.
Taking straight lead of sets, the 71 Sub Area Volley Ball team defeated CRPF Volley Ball Team Udhampur by 25-18 and 25-17 at an inaugural Eight teams of the state are participating in the tournament which is being organized in collaboration with District Volley Ball Association, Udhampur.
