Chib inaugurates 36th TenniKoit Championship
Jammu, Nov 12: The 36th Senior National TenniKoit Championship 2011 was inaugurated at Green Field Gandinagar here on Saturday by Minister for Youth Services and Sports R S Chib who was accompanied by Minister for Revenue Relief and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla.
Welcoming players from 27 states Tenni Kiot Association chief patron Col Sheetal Singh (R), said the event will explore the possibilities of exchanging sports talent ethnic exchange and diverse cultural ethos of India. “The event will not only expose the hidden talent but will boost the morale of youth in the state,” he added.
The organizers of the Ashfaq Pandit President of the Association, Chairman Er. Kiran Watttal Secretary J&K State Sports Council, Mohammad Ishaq General Secretary and Iqbal Lone (CEO KFORD) said that they were looking forward for cooperation support and encouragement from state government, corporate houses, civil society groups , media and sports lovers to make the event successful.
“J&KTKA with the support of government and non government organizations have achieved the distinction among other states of India when it comes to participation in state and national tenni kiot activity,” they said.
“Tenni kiot has time and again provided opportunities to young talents from the state to explore and expose them in different socio- economic cultural settings. Tennikiot has always provided and encouraging platform for underprivileged children of the state who never had dreamed of to get exposed to the outer world which includes participation in state, national and international,” they added.
Tennikoit is an international sports being played in atleast 14 countries across the world. India ranks third in the world rankings.
