‘Promote agro-based products’
Srinagar, Nov 14: In order to promote sale of Agriculture products, Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Hassan Mir inaugurated sale counter of Agro Industries Development Corporation at Tourist Reception Centre Srinagar today.
He asked employees of Corporation to promote Kashmir based Agriculture products, an official statement said. The Minister said sale centre of agriculture based quality products at this place on reasonable rates will boost the morale of producers and will also give fillip to the improvement in the functioning of corporation as the tourists will prefer to purchase such items. On this occasion, Managing Director, Agro Industries Development Corporation, Dr. Farooq A. Lone said that during last financial year corporation sold 12.05 ton of processed Honey worth Rs 24 lakh.
During this year corporation has earmarked 30 ton to be procured from the beekeepers across the Valley enabling them to have value support of Rs 35 lakh.
