BB Cantt Hospital hosts cataract surgery camp

Srinagar, Nov 14: Army’s Chinar Corps organised a cataract surgery camp at the Base Hospital in BB Cantt in the City.
 According to a defence communiqué the camp was organised under the patronage of GOC Chinar Corps Lt Gen SA Hasnain.
 “The camp was inaugurated by Maj Gen Virendra Kumar, Chief of Staff, Chinar Corps. Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, senior civilian dignitaries and senior Army officers were also present on the occasion,” it said.
 “In all, 60 senior residents from underprivileged remote areas will undergo free cataract surgery with use of latest state of art equipment for implantation of intraocular lenses. This initiative of Chinar Corps is a step to improve the quality of life of the old and infirm senior citizens, who will now be able to lead an independent life,” the statement added.
