Scouting develops leadership traits: R S Chib
Jammu, Nov 14: Stating that J&K Bharat Scouts and Guides is an organization working for creating disciplined youth, Minister for Youth Services and Sports R S Chib said the organization inculcates traits of leadership and other useful skills.
The Minister was speaking at a function, organized by J&K Bharat Scouts and Guides in collaboration with Indian Oil Corporation here today.
Chib dwelt in detail about the activities of the organization and said it inspires the younger generation to work for the betterment of society. He said youth associated with Bharat Scouts and Guides has opportunity to link with a disciplined organization, adding that these youth invariably succeed in life. “Work hard to touch pinnacles of success,” Mr. Chib exhorted scouts while calling upon them to learn respecting elders.
Referring to conduct of essay competition on the occasion, Chib said such events would create a sense of competition among participants in which they write on the topic with competitive spirit and try to excel. He said the youth have to play the pivotal role in sensitizing the people about conservation of oil and other natural resources.
A national level essay competition on “The role of youth in promoting oil conservation,” was held on the occasion in which 200 students from 30 schools participated.
Earlier, the Minister released quarterly magazine “News Reporter” of J&K Bharat Scouts and Guides illustrating its achievements and future plans. He also handed over award to Neelam Gupta, which she received from Asia Pacific for working dedicatedly.

Jaipal Singh, State Senior Vice-President, J&K Bharat Scouts and Guides Roma Wani, State Commissioner (Scouts), J&K Bharat Scouts and Guides I D Soni, State Commissioner (Guides), J&K Bharat Scouts and Guides Nasreen Khan, Zonal Commissioner, State Commissioner Scouts, J&K Bharat Scouts and Guides M M Joshi, besides office bearers and Scouts and Guides were present.
