Ensure punctuality in Govt offices: Altaf directs officers
Stresses for rationalisation of power supply, reviews works in Pulwama - Shopian
Pulwama, Nov 15: Minister for Forest, Environment and Ecology, Mian Altaf Ahmad today directed the officers to ensure punctuality in Government offices so that people do not face any inconvenience during winter.
He also stressed for rationalisation of power supply and directed the PDD to strictly adhere curtailment schedule.
The Minister was chairing a meeting here today to review the stock and supply position of essential commodities, timber and firewood, besides pace of developmental works and Tribal Sub Plan in Pulwama and Shopian districts of South Kashmir.
The Minister was informed that during current financial year against, a target of 1.15 lakh cft of timber, 96,500 cft have been dumped in different sale outlets while as 64,000 cft have been distributed among beneficiaries in Pulwana and Shopian districts.
The meeting apprised the Minister about the pace of works on 34 road projects which are coming up at an estimated cost of Rs. 47.46 crore under PMGSY. The officials said that Rs. 36 crore have been spent till date on the projects.
The Minister was also informed that under NABARD, 20 road projects are in progress in Tral, Pampore, Pulwama and Rajpora.
Under Tribal Sub Plan, the Minister was appraised that Rs. 28.97 lakh plan have been submitted to Social Welfare department for approval while as Rs 11.88 lakhs were spent during last financial year.
Among others, the Member Parliament Ghulam Nabi Rattanpuri, Additional District Development Commissioner, Pulwama, Chief Conservator of Forest Kashmir, senior officers of Forest department and district administration participated in the meeting.
