JK to get 3 Cyber Police Stations by Dec 15: DGP

Jammu, Nov 15:  The Director General of Police (DGP), Kuldeep Khoda, on Tuesday said that three Cyber Police Stations would become functional in Srinagar and Jammu from December 15.
 He said that Cyber Crime has been posing a great challenge to the modern policing and Jammu and Kashmir Police is having full competence to meet the challenge.
 Khoda while chairing a high level meeting at Crime Headquarters here said, “Space for three Cyber Police Stations has been identified and these Police Stations will start functioning from December 15, this year. Software and the other staff will be arranged within our own resources till necessary allocations are made by the government.”
 During the meeting deficiency of manpower including the Investigating Staff came under discussion and the DGP issued on spot directions to supplement the shortage of manpower at all levels. He said that prosecuting officers should be posted in the courts across the State to achieve good results in the prosecution of criminals.
 The DGP said re-organization of crime department had been taken up with the government and deficiency of accommodation for crime headquarters and shortage of transport is under active consideration of Police Headquarters.
