Minor commits suicide in Bijbehra

Islamabad (Anantnag), Nov 15: In a tragic incident, a minor girl allegedly committed suicide after entering into a heated argument with her younger brother in Bijbehra town of this South Kashmir district today.
The 12-year old girl (name withheld) hails from Goriwan Bijbehara here. “The deceased had a verbal brawl with her younger brother, over ten rupees which their father had given to them. Later she went into another room of the house and hanged herself with her head scarf,” said a neighbor of the deceased.
She was immediately taken to Sub-district hospital Bijbehara where doctors declared her brought dead. Police has registered a case into the matter and initiated investigations. “We have conducted postmortem of the deceased and handed over the body to her family. Though the death is suspicious, but the case has been registered and investigations are on,” a police official told Greater Kashmir.
In a similar incident, on Monday a minor had strangulated himself to death in Srinagar city while imitating the scene of a television serial.
